...and the photo is an AR-15 in disguise as an M-16 (early model). That's how it sneaks into gun shows, in disguise...

SPC Eric Hurdle - it is not the original model, it has a forward assist, so it is at least an M16A1. I remember going from the Army to the Air Force and looking at the M16 they handed me, and asking where the forward assist was, then being informed that the Air Force never adopted the A1. On this photo of the original M16, you can also see the pronged flash suppressor.

GySgt John Olson - Opened many a case of CRats with the M16 flash suppressor. (Never bent any of the prongs though on Mine) I do also remember the Colt imprint although the M15 designation You mentioned come to mind also and they were still full auto . Its been a while though although i guess it still sat in the back of My mind.

Capt Gregory Prickett - with the flash suppressor and the forward assist, i believe it is an A2. have to see the safety selector to know for sure. A2 has 3-round burst, A1 is full auto

SrA John Monette - It's an A1, as it does not have a case deflector. Also, the rear sights are A1 style, not A2 style.

I am guessing due to the security classification the civilian version of the M193A (Atomic) round with a blast radius of 1 mile was redacted from these facts. It seems a mad private wanted to nuke the Russians from west Germany but they caught him before he accidentally nuked Austria when he got lost in the woods.

That's not even right Top. I actually looked that one up. You had me scratching my head "M193A" da fuck? Types of rounds for a M16 is a board question, and I didn't remember Atomic. I'm getting old...
