'New Yorker' Columnist: Chick-Fil-A Is Evil And Must Be Banned From Our Holy City

OMG! One of the founders of Chick-Fil-A is a Christian and they close up shop on Sundays. Evil! This raises an interesting point. Once upon a time, every business closed on Sundays. 7-11 got its name from the fact that it was open from 7 am to 11 pm. And Motel 6 offered rooms for $6 per night. When did that all change? I can tell you. I enlisted in the Army in 1966, and all those things were true then. When I returned from Vietnam in 1968, all had changed. It was quite a culture shock. Also, Baltimore had experienced the Race Riots while I was gone and the city, once a quiet bedroom community within easy commuting distance of more metropolitan cities like NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington, was a fortress when I returned. Another culture shock. What changed in your absence and was it "evil"?
