Model 1911 Rubber Band Gun

Okay, now before you complain to the RP Admins, I'm not selling these things. I just wanted you to see them. There's a couple of reasons. First, I think they're really ingenious. The mechanism is simple yet effective. The other reason is that they reminded me of a story... (Marines need not read further) I was my son's Cub Scout Den Leader and took them to the Boy Scout Camp in Lost Valley near Palmdale, CA. While there, the boys were allowed to shoot .22 rifles each day. The fathers got their chance when the boys were done. The range officer was a former Soviet border guard (We used to kibbitz about being trained to kill each other). Well, living between El Toro MCAS when it was open and Camp Pendleton, all the other fathers were Marines, except for one former Air Force pilot and me (Army). The AF pilot couldn't hit the side of a barn and complained that he would do better with a bomber and a nuke. Me? I consistently out shot the Marines. That pissed them off. On the last day of camp, there was a carnival and I got separated from the others for a time. While looking for them, the AF Pilot came running up grinning and bragging, "I out shot them." There was a rubber band gun event (shooting at paper cups). I decided to stop looking for the Marines. I suspected that they were in no mood to see me.
