Interesting discussion, but I think he goes a bit too far. I don't evaluate the nature/character of God at all. As I have insufficient evidence to merit a belief in such, there is no need to attempt to evaluate it. Any statements positive or negative regarding the existence and nature of god are exactly the same thing. Beliefs. One cannot prove or disprove the existence or nature of god. Once you make the statement, then the burden of evidence falls to the person making the claim. Since I lack evidence either way, I cannot make either claim.

I personally do not care if someone believes or doesn't believe. I don't expend energy trying to disprove to the statements. I simply have no reason to accept the proposition that god exists and that it is good. If presented with compelling evidence, I would evaluate it at that time. Until then, I have more amusing things to debate.

If you believe, great. If you don't, great. Either way, it doesn't much matter to me.

I just think the whole thing is just a bunch of hooey. Believe, don't believe... who cares. I don't question god I just don't care. I do wonder why anyone would worship or believe in such a brutal killing machine. Anything that caused so much suffering and death seems like a stupid thing to care about.

I've said it before, anyone who really reads the Bible is going to come away with questions. There's nothing wrong with that. Most of the atheistic questions regarding God are more about God's character and morality. That's the part that's absurd. As I said in our other conversation yesterday, if there is no God and the Bible is just a made up book, then who is Capt Gregory Prickett to tell someone else they are wrong about anything? By what standard do you (and the guy in the video) use to condemn things like murder? Yours? America's? Texas'? And what do you back that condemnation up with? "Well I just know"? That's absurd. Why should anyone take your word for it concerning morality? Because society says so? Whose society?

The Bible, whether you agree with it or not, provides a moral standard. You and this guy are just doing what you want to do. And to prove that, I'll ask a simple question. Name one moral issue(homosexuality, murder, stealing, etc.) that you actually have no issue with but still condemn as immoral because our society tells you to? Or you can tell me something that you would think is immoral but our society accepts so you now consider it moral.

MAJ (Join to see) - Since you see fit to condescendingly disparage my definition of "bad", I'd greatly appreciate it if you could explain to me the "good" side of "wholesale genocide and enslavement" as I requested above.

And no, I actually do not care about the opinions or orders of your fictional bogeyman. Any alleged being which enslaves, exterminates, and annihilates at will for specious reasons is inherently immoral. Just because you deny it's a monster and worship it, doesn't change its blatant immorality. Such a beast would have to answer to me for judgment, rather than I to it. "Because it's God" is no excuse for its sociopathic attributes.

MSgt Lowell Skelton I don't even remember our conversation and I can't scroll through all the comments on my phone. I'll just tell you the same thing I tell others. You opinion of God has zero bearing on His existence. And the whole "he has to answer to me" biy is simply you putting yourself in His place. So tell me, of I'm wrong, or if God Himself is wrong, and you're right, tell me why. Why should I believe your version of morality?

MAJ (Join to see) - You don't have to believe my version. Nor do I have to believe your version, which is predicated on subjugation to a murderous bloodthirsty being. I don't know if you approve of or accept genocide like your God does, but I for one do not, and by that simple difference I am more moral than your God.

Also, your opinion of your God also has no bearing on the fact that it does not exist.
