Shoot Out: Glock 17 9mm Handgun vs.1911A1 (Which Is the Better Gun)?

Jefe I love a 1911 I wish I had one of the tricked out remakes, however, Glock does not play. A glock is not just a cool firearm it is well tested, battle tested firearm. There are thousands of cops around this nation that carry one every day. The LTC that I mentored and will surpass me let me shoot his the other day and I loved it. First thing I had not shot a gun since my accident back in late 2012 nor have I shot a glock. When I stepped up to the firing line all of Special Operators stopped shooting and watched. It felt natural and I did pretty dang good, I like a glock

I agree. I really like the 1911, but I don't own one. OTOH, I don't own a Glock either. In todays market, there are dozens of handguns that are dead simple and reliable. I own a Taurus 24/7 full size in 45ACP, which has been extremely reliable since the break in period. My EDC is one of the original Ruger LPC's, which was reliable out of the box, handy to carry and conceal, but not fun to shoot. If I had to chose a new 45ACP, I think my choice would actually be a S&W MP 2.0.
Oh, and I will probably upgrade my LPC to an LPC 2.
