Yes today is Independence Day in the USA, my friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I hope that you and Bella and other family members and friends have a wonderful Independence Day.
I know that you will on the road riding toward Amarillo, TX all day, so I won't be able to respond right away! I hope the change of command you will be atending on July 6 at Fort Hood goes smootly. I searched and couldn't find anything about it so I expect it is at battaltion or company change of command.
In anyway I hope the wind is at your back and the sun warms you in the cool of the morning and evening.
Freedom is in the soul. The eagles and hawks soar above the streams, rivers, plains and forests of this land. They are free and have no idea about what captivity is unless they are captured and become distraught and melancholy.
Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of Independence from Great Britain and the British Crown.

It's a Battalion Change of Command LTC Stephen F. It's an AGR position as well. I'm in my hotel room now relaxing and decompressing from the motorcycle ride. Got a little warm when I rolled in to Texas this afternoon, but not too bad and no rain. That's a plus. Thanks for the great comments. Bella had to work today, my Mom when up the block for a little Block Party this afternoon in the new neighborhood by herself, while I had a deck being built. She took two pictures, waiting on the Inspector to check the base tomorrow before they can proceed.

We have been given this gift and yet we see so many in our country willing to let it go. Why? As the quote sats, because of responsibility. We are to make our own decisions and bear the consequences of those decisions. Many simply are afraid, too lazy or beleve the government can do it better. We know better than that. What can you do to educate others or to affirm freedom?
