He said "All Politicians" which is accurate..the deficit GREW every day, every year because of "All Politicians". Whither the the old blame game of "Not me it was the other guys fault" Or not... "All Politicians" either directly caused the deficit to grow, or did nothing effective to decrease it. The Blame falls squarely on those that set the taxes and spend the dollars ...When you have less of the first and more of the latter you have failed at your job.

SGM Erik Marquez - No, the deficit did NOT grow every year. The deficit actually went down, was smaller, between 2012-2016. The national debt still increased, but at a slower rate because the deficit was shrinking. There is a difference between the national debt and the deficit.

SGM Erik Marquez - When the term "exactly" is being applied, nits will be picked. In matters of fact, the truth of the fact is of substantial importance. The original post was incorrect. I am terribly sorry if that fact hurt someone's feelings.

As to the message relating to "all politicians",not all are in a equal position to either affect or effect fiscal policy. Moral equivalency is a fun game, but not often accurate. If the intent is to extend blame, then one can equally blame the voters that put those politicians in place... and if ALL politicians are guilty, then by extension, so are all voters. Each an every one of us.
