Kids should be able to go to school without being shot. But, is the problem as big as people make it out to be? If a left leaning group can only independently corroborate 11 out of the reported 259 shootings in a year, there is a real problem with garbage in equals garbage out.

They get that 259 from shootings that were anywhere within spitting distance of a school where the school wasn't even the target, it just happened to be there.

My High School had a crack den across the street. There were shootings daily, I am guessing they would have counted those, too, even though it had nothing to do with school. But, a higher number certainly scares people more...
