This is rediculous. There were far more credible allegations Bill Clinton was a serial sexual abuser and Diane Feinstein voted not to protect women and the highest office in the land. All of a sudden a 30 year old allegation involving 2 or 4 people that occurred perhaps in 1982, or around the early 1980’s. Then it wasn’t reported at all until 30 years later. Yes totally credible!

LTC David Brown - Are you kidding me? No abusers - specifically narcisstic abusers - do not ever change. Ever. Show me one narcissistic abuser who changed. They will not change because they don't think they did anything wrong. In their mind, THEY are the victim. THEY are wronged and they have to tear down those around them.

Please do not try to school me on abusers - and don't use Christianity as an example about people can't change. That is not a person - that is an ideology. Of course ideologies can and do change. They are ideas.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - Suggestions but no proof...he admitted to dating or attempting to date teenagers as an adult.
The news cycle is ever continuous and doesn't stay on one topic too long. It depends on what gathers the public's interest.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro -

"A former colleague of Roy Moore's told CNN on Saturday that it was "common knowledge" that he "dated high school girls" when he was in his 30s. "

"Theresa Jones used to work as a deputy district attorney in the same courthouse as Moore, and she told CNN on Saturday that "everyone we knew thought it was weird" that Moore dated girls significantly younger than he was.

"We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall, but you really wouldn't say anything to someone like that," she added. "

Moore said he doesn't "remember dating any girl without the permission of her mother," but admitted that he "dated a lot of young ladies" when he returned from the military, though "not generally" 16-or 17-year-olds. (Not generally isn't denying it. Not generally means there's a possibility he dated some teenage girls. Usually if someone knows they didn't do something they say "No I did not do that." Like if someone asked me "Did you ever date a teenager in your 30s?" Answer: "hell no. Who does that?").

"As a political firestorm raged over allegations that he had been romantically involved with teens, Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show Friday. Asked whether he had dated 17- or 18-year-old girls while he was in his 30s, Moore said he didn’t remember. “If I did, I’m not going to dispute these things, but I don’t remember anything like that,” he added."

"The statement likely didn’t do his embattled candidacy any favors—even though Moore did deny having been involved with a 14-year-old. And it turns out he couldn’t deny relations with underage women in a phone call with a US senator after the show.

According to three sources briefed on the call, Moore could not deny “kissing” or “dating” teenagers while in his thirties. The Republican senator encouraged Moore to drop out of the race, the sources said. A spokesman for Moore declined to comment on an account of the phone call."

Residents of the county where GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore was once the assistant district attorney say it was common knowledge that he would flirt with and try to date teenage girls, The New Yorker and Alabama news source AL.com reported Monday.

Local residents told AL.com that Moore had a reputation for approaching teenage girls long before last week's bombshell Washington Post report alleged he initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was in his early 30s.

"Him liking and dating young girls was never a secret in Gadsden when we were all in high school," Sheryl Porter, an Etowah County resident, told AL.com. Moore was the assistant district attorney for the county in the late 1970s and early 80s.

"In our neighborhoods up by Noccalula Falls we heard it all the time. Even people at the courthouse know it was a well-known secret,” Porter said.

To be objective in this, IF it truly happened and it was swept under the rug then, is there a "good" time to get "justice", or is it only when folks deem it "right" that "justice" will be served when they feel it's time? Historically it's not uncommon for folks in powerful positions to bury past discretions and when they pop up later claim all kinds of things to remove them from the action that was taken. Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill, Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski. Both incidents happened, both were reported, Clinton actually felt the wind of "GTFO" on his neck, but was saved that embarrassment by the Senate. Thomas just kept to the storyline and was voted in. Since he isn't exactly a poster child for stomping on sexual harassment. He hasn't said a damn thing actually.

I'll go one further. Congress....those folks who we voted in to "represent" us and our values. Look at the last two years regarding sexual harassment claims against them. Look at who was removed, who struck deals, look PAST their political parties, and note that in the time since they left, a "big" storm about reining in sexual harassment on the hill was presented, and died just as fast. You've seen the former TX legislator who bounced before he was about to get the business from investigators on his issues, and come to find out that he reached a settlement with his victim and agreed to pay the government back the settlement since it didn't come from him, but us. Now...he's still blaming everyone but himself for what happened to him, and also is refusing to pay the money back.

This will sound naïve, but position, grade, or monetary wealth should not make one immune to justice, but to make a false claim, not should not excuse the accuser from justice. I also know it doesn't work that way.

SFC (Join to see) - That doesn't matter. She's going up against a man. One that is also supposedly well respected by his professional peers. She's still a woman and he's still a man who is needed in a particular position to enact a agenda he and others support. Yes I brought in sex in this because that's what this boils down to. Every single point against her is logically explained, but rather than see she has the right and ability to at any time tell what she feels is a wrong. So in telling her story, she's upsetting a "societal norm"...shut up unless asked. If the role was reversed and this was the Dem nominee, she would be the best thing walking. Her story would be blasted everywhere and then some. But right now in this political circle, it's easy to discount her as an opportunist and a liar without actually saying either one. She needs to be able to speak her mind no matter what. Shame folks here just refuse to see her basic right unless her basic right coincides with who and what they want it to be.

In the end Kav is important to Trump due to his belief that no President can be indicted while in office. His opposition to the ACA and the "choice words" given to republicans for future reference also bolster his value to the team. His defiance for recusal in any matter that would come to him regarding the President is his ultimate selling point. Trump is doing the right thing by stacking the deck with those in a position to vindicate him and destroy those who don't like what he's doing. Everyone knows that there will never be 2/3'rds to make a law to override the SCOTUS.

SSG Warren Swan - I was simply responding to the comment that said basically how could he sexually assault someone when 65 women say he's a stand up guy? I was showing that she too is respected. But that proves nothing either.

Please tell me more about being a woman in a man's world...I would not have any idea what that is like. (Sarcasm).

I don't know what you mean if the role was reversed her story would be blasted everywhere - are you saying if she was the one accused of sexual assault that conservative media would be broadcasting her story? I don't know who would be saying she's the best thing walking.

Oh it's all political because she's a Democrat accusing a Republican so the Democrats are clamoring all over her story. Yet when a Democrat (Karen Monahan) accuses ANOTHER Democrat (Keith Ellison) there are crickets from the Democrats. In fact, she claims the Democrats are trying to destroy her, they don't believe her and so on. So yes it's 100% political and always will be. It's especially sad when Democrats turn on their own because she accuses another Democrat of domestic violence (and apparently another woman accused Ellison too).

I don't know what happened with her. I don't know if she was actually sexually assaulted. I don't know if she is lying. None of us know what is happening until something proves otherwise - as in a payment to her to lie or proof of the assault. That's what is hard about a case that is 30+ years old or someone brings things up after 30 years. It's hard to judge a case if it's not reported for a week. It is a bit suspicious her timing of reporting this I'll agree on that one. It's easy to see why flags are raised on her statement. But I'm not going to sit back and judge her or accuse her of things or tarnish her reputation like some do. If she was sexually assaulted, I feel for her. If Kavanaugh did it, he should be held responsible but he likely won't even if he did. If he didn't and someone else did it, then that's pretty shitty to tarnish someone's reputation who is innocent.

Of course Trump doesn't want his nomination removed. We know he doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself.

This is why I don't affiliate with any political party. It's all bullshit. You have women and men who are being sexually assaulted or beaten by a significant other and they get discounted based on who they accuse and their political affiliation.

SFC (Join to see) - What I meant by "if the role was reversed her story would be blasted everywhere"....is the Democrats are using every Hail Mary on earth to get even with the GOP for the basic stopping of Cavanaugh's confirmation to SCOTUS when Obama was President. It was his choice and who he chose, but McConnell used a dirty trick that the Dems themselves had used to put the brakes on that. It's not fair, but this is politics, so it makes it fair.

I have no reason on earth to doubt her claim. I have no reason on earth to believe he did it either. I DO believe firmly that she has the right no matter how long it took to come out, for her to speak her mind. There may be a statue of limitations on convictions, there is no statue of limitations on airing the grievance out. So she needs to finish what she started, and it will not go well, or be received in any manner of decency. It'll be Anita Hill Pt2 but worse. It's already been reported they're going to go HAM on her. I don't agree with the committee going HAM on a possible rape or sexual assault victim, but she's held it tight this long, I think she'll be good this time. In another post I mentioned about being in therapy myself with other OEF vets for PTSD. At the time the oldest of us was maybe 39? We had a "visitor" come in and he was an old man. Nothing special, but when he opened up. He had held in for 40yrs what he did in Nam. 40yrs to finally release what tormented him to us? He spoke, we were dead quiet, and didn't ask one question out of respect to him and what he did. Dude put in some WORK back then. That is how I see this woman as. She may/may not have had this happen, but lets say she did. She kept this in all this time. Paths never crossed again, but she heard his name. Memories like that do not just "poof" and go away. His name could've triggered her, and BAM here we are. This will never be fully resolved. If found credible, his career is done (I do note that the other man in the room has said he will not get involved in this now), and should it be credible, he should be disbarred and banned in accordance with the law. If she is lying, (even if she's not), her career for the most part is done. You just accused a man (not the average asshat on the street) of a serious crime. You've made a lot of actual victims look stupid and as opportunists, and for 99% of them that is NOT the case at all. At that point she should be hooked up to the extent of the law, whatever fines levied, and a public apology given.

There are no "winners" or "losers" in this that matter. These two are just pawns to serve to an end. One to stop the other from having the ability to support an unpopular person, and the a pawn used as a potential Hail Mary or "trick play" who will go back looking for obscurity in a world that has a short attention span but a lifetime on Google. The two parties are the winners hands down. She'll be forgotten by the end of next week at the latest no matter what happens.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on not associating with either political party as the "sole" entity that will save the US. Both have people I like in them, both have a lot more I don't. It's made more funny to me when folks assume by my pic I have to be of a particular party being that's what "all blacks are", or if I tell others "I wasn't going to vote for HRC no matter what. Kasich had my vote". Now jaws are on the floor because I don't fit the stereotype. I have to fit a mold to use against me quite often. Often on here once I know that's where someone is headed or using, I'll just troll the hell out of them because they're just plain out ignorant as hell. People can be "too smart" sometimes. Hell I'll troll my damn self
