Of course there is no mention by conservative media or politicians. She wasn't killed by an immigrant, therefore there is nothing to be gained in discussing it because you can't use that to gin up the base about needing a border wall and how the Mexicans aren't sending their best, etc. So it's basically nothing to see here folks, just move along and look at the wonderful elephants in the circus tent.
However, this has been all over main stream media. She was a top tier collegiate golfer. Who knows what she would have accomplished. Sad.

But the comments from people are different too. As pointed out in the article I think, no one is making cries to get rid of all homeless people or targeting all homeless people. I knew immediately when this came out what some of the comments would be and I was right. It's the fact that society treats the murders differently when they are both very similar and very heinous.

SFC (Join to see) - To some extent I agree, but I think it still boils down to the fact that the alleged murderer is not an illegal immigrant or POC. Had he been a homeless illegal immigrant then the conservative media and politicians would have been all over this as another reason to build the wall, kick out illegal immigrants because they are nothing but criminals, etc. And had it been a POC, the same response out of conservative medial and politicians but skewed against BLM, etc.

This can be directed to the media and the way they sensationalize certain stories.

Three reasons it like many other murders doesn’t get captured by political embellishment. 1) The young woman wasn’t White enough for the current political environment. 2) Her name wasn’t American enough for the same reason. And 3) the crime wasn’t committed by an immigrant, legal or illegal, thus couldn’t be used for the political agenda.
Women and children go missing and are murdered a lot in our country. Not all cases are solved nor do they gain national media attention let alone stoke political outrage targeting a specific group in out society (minorities, immigrants or Muslims). Local media that hasn’t bowed to corporate pressure for ratings will report the stories but national mainstream media will always have an agenda.
But I will not suggest there should be outrage towards homeless people no more than there should be outrage towards immigrants. Every case is unique. Thanks for the share.
