As a former Equal Opportunity Advisor (EOA)/ Sharpe Advocate, we teach all victims and otherwise that if something has happened you need to say something. Reach out to someone who will help. A person who has been assaulted sexually needs to realize that "Nobody" will benefit from silence.

My personal opinion is that if this did happen then why didnt she say something or call the police. Why wait until the alleged attacker is about to be nominated for a position of power to say something. I remember the same thing happening back when SMA McKinny was accused of the same type of behavior when he was appointed as the Senior Enlisted of the US Army.

The other point i would like to mention is: if this is a "SHAM" then those who are involved need to suffer the consequences, i.e. prison time. The same thing should happen to those who make false accusations, such accusations do nothing but destroy the lives of those involved. This just shows has dirty politics really are. The other problem with false accusations is that it creates doubt when ever someone comes forward.

Grassley has called on the Justice Department and the FBI to review the matter as a possible violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001 and 1505, portions of the U.S. code criminalizing the sharing of materially false information with committee investigators and obstruction of proceedings of congressional committees.
