Very useful post LTC Jason Mackay. I used my Green Book the same as you did. I did make a dashboard and I taped it inside my book. I put a sheet protector on it and then used a dry erase marker to track changes to the metrics I looked at daily. I'd give my book over to the S3 and then he could update the slides for C&S. After awhile I wondered why we even conducted C&S. But I digress. I think the Green Book is a great system but you have to be disciplined at some point in the week to capture your notes on the computer. Think Knowledge Management here. If a logistician followed this practice I'd speculate that they would have developed the equivalent to the Staff Officer's Estimate Guide.

LTC (Join to see) getting it transmitted is a time sink. I dabbled with a rocket book after I retired. It could be valued added...getting the book to the S3/XO in real time
