Full Transcripts: Trump’s Speech on Immigration and the Democratic Response

Been used by previous Presidents of all parties and will be used by future Presidents of all parties. They use Executive orders like we use toilet paper...we just don't hear about most of them. Problem is that neither party wants to change it because they don't want to cripple their parties candidate when they are elected...strategic moves on both parties. They will fuss and complain when each one does it but none of them want to cripple their future agendas. IMHO.

Now as far as the speech goes, Trump was right about Schumer and democrats wanting to build a wall...That goes as far back as Pres Clinton. Now it seems to be an issue when he made it a campaign platform. What gets me is that folks are saying a wall and barrier is immoral. Well we (the US) have spent Billions putting up walls along highways and interstates all over the US to protect neighborhoods from NOISE and intrusion...not wanting to spend a fraction of what that cost to protect our nation...too me...that just isn't right.

Schumer stated that Trump is shutting down govt because of the wall..that isn't entirely true either. There are other provisions. Nancy Pelosi vacationed in Hawaii during the shutdown while she was getting paid and stated they wouldn't even consider reopening the govt and would not come back until the Democrats took back the house...that's putting Americans first. Both sides shut down the Govt because of Kindergarten rules...all the while they are getting paid...they are talking about 800,000 thousand innocent workers not getting paide but they are...that's not right!

Nancy Pelosi talks about Trumps temper tantrums (BTW I agree has has them) but she has been known to throw one or two herself on the House floor.
