A bit of techie news. There is currently a decent amount of uproar right now due to changes that Google has proposed for their popular Chrome web browser. The net effect of these changes, at least how they are being proposed is that "ad blocking" extensions would not be able to function.
Now many people think of Google as a search company but at it's core Google is an advertising company and they get almost all their revenue from selling ads. Now generally I don't even mind most Google served ads because they tend to be both unobtrusive and occasionally relevant to my interests but I can't even imagine surfing the web without an ad blocker (to be honest even RallyPoint is painful to look at without one).
Thinking back Chrome is actually the 4th web browser I've used in my time on the Internet (been a regular user since 1994). I started with Netscape Navigator, then switched to Internet Explorer, then to Mozilla Firefox (which incidentally traces it's origins to Netscape) before moving to Google Chrome. If I end up having to ditch Chrome I'll probably move back to Firefox.
