Just like the Soviets/Russians we are going to find ourselves fighting many of our own weapons systems in the years to come

So this means we need to have a bidding for a contract to build more of these things right? We still use those overseas right?

I don't understand why we sell our "old" equipment when they can likely be broken down for scrap or parts and reused in some capacity back home. We also continue to build unneeded systems that will then lead up to eventually selling them to our future enemies.

We need to learn from history, because we are already repeating it.

The last 2 years Congress has forced the Army to buy more M1's. And you are right, why don't we scrap them, or mothball them, or anything but sell them to people who might turn around and use them on us

It was always my understanding that shipping them back is much more expensive than just leaving them there and buying a new one.

Even more so when you sell it and buy a new one.
