SGT John " Mac " McConnell - that and knowing it could possible fail. Yeah no thanks. Just got done reading a WWII B-29 leadership piece on success rate there. Man the numbers of lost were staggering.

Good day, my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell and thank you for sharing the photographs of early military plane crashes. Crash investigation came of age once the automobile and lorries/trucks became common. During WWI, tanks and aircraft failed or under-performed at times. This gave rise to improvements in design over time - in WWI, this included synchronizing machine gun firing through a working propeller so that the pilot or gunner could fire straight ahead.
