Lt Col Charlie Brown So, is that a yes or no that we should be concerned about ethics issues in politics?

Are we sure that any of the politicians have any ethics.

Getting an ethics bill from the House is very ironic and tantamount to getting drinking water from a cesspool.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - You can't legislate ethics, or morality. Congress is there to pass laws. As for the Senate, I think they feel the same way, an ethics bill is not what they were elected to do nor is it part of the oath of office. I would also say society sets the norms for morals and ethics. Just look back in time, and you will see many changes to ethics and morality, and they were not molded by law, but by societal norms as a whole.

CWO3 Dennis M. - And I agree with all of that. However, isn't passing laws, in essence, legislating morality and ethics?

MAJ Bryan Zeski - That is a pretty philosophical question Maj.. Maybe my answer will be too simple, but I would say, laws are required to control "crimes against humanity", and society sets "RULES" for Morality and Ethics.
