Is a tomato a vegetable? The confusion about 'fruit' and 'vegetable' arises because of the differences in usage between scientists and cooks. Scientifically speaking, a tomato is definitely a fruit. Who's correct. Scientist will tell you they are, but then again they defined what constitutes a "fruit" long after the word fruit was in use. Cooks will tell you they are right, because they are the pragmatics who actually apply the tomato's characteristics to the real world.

Is spaghetti sauce tomato sauce? No, at least not in the house of anyone who deserves the title of cook. Spaghetti sauce isn't tomato sauce, but by volume it is mostly tomatoes.

Is America a Christian nation? No, it isn't but their are a lot of Christians in it.

Is America a Christian nation? That is a silly question I do not need to ask. America is DEFINITELY NOT a Christian nation. If it were, America would be a theocracy. That does not mean that Christianity has had no influence in the shape of the American past, present, and future. It would be inaccurate to say that Christianity has played an insignificant part in American history.

I glad you recognize that the United States is a secular nation. Many Christians do not. Thank you.
