Here are my recommendations:
-Leaders need to be educated on PTSD, compassion, and mental health processes.
-Marines should be educated on how to ask for help, and there is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes the warrior ethos precludes people asking for help.
-There should be a more robust screening upon redeployment.
-Units with PTSD marines need to understand the focus should be on healing and therapy. The crux of the matter is they have PTSD, and they are not bad marines.
