Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - Sir, I'm replying here instead of in PO1 Lonny Wedell's thread because he's apparently offended and blocked me. You asked where the singularity came from, and science has an answer:

We don't know.

But the statement that those who believe in the Big Bang theory somehow believe that something came from nothing is just factually incorrect. First, we don't have an example of nothing--ever. Something can't come from that which has never existed, and we have no reason to believe that nothing has ever existed.

So we don't know where the singularity came from, but that doesn't mean that it is believed to have come from nothing, or at least, not by those who follow the scientific method.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - if the answer is "we don't know" that does not mean that a deity had to have done it. It means that we don't know.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Copy but you always state you want facts but you are accepting a we don't know without facts or evidence. Something or someone had to do it. Because logic states it all had to start somewhere at sometime by something.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - The reason that we don't know is that there are no facts and evidence. There is also no evidence that "something or someone" had to do it, that's begging the question. It's a form of circular reasoning.

"We don't know" means just that.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Logic doesn't support circular reaoning...Well you are beliving on some sort of faith that you don't know because there isn't any proof or evidence as you say. We beleive as Christians on faith but you say we have no proof of that either (although science is proving more and more of the bible everyday) so you believe in an unknown without facts or merit as you say we do...so what is wrong with that?
