Far out field trip: What the Marine Corps can learn from Burning Man

Thank you, my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for posting the interesting news that USMC logisticians are interested in learning about logistics for the Burning Man festival near Gerlach, Nevada,
"For the past three decades thousands of participants have gathered in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada to create a temporary city. This city has transported, housed, fed, entertained, enlightened and provided medical attention to around 60,000 people in recent years with zero permanent infrastructure."

One primary factor is that Burning Man festival is located entirely in the USA with no significant terrorist threat [in the past anyway] or conventional warfare threat and we have air superiority here.
The second factor is that this festival has been located in the same area for 30 years. When they started out they had to work out kinks of all sorts. Over the years the organizers became very experienced and technology improved as well

The wildcard is how the enemy will try employ forces to deny you of the logistics like how allied forces denying the Germans fuel in N Africa.
