I don't know about other states but in Texas, if you havwe a CHL you just fill out the transfer form and you're out the door. Is it the same for other states with CHL?

SFC Michael D. - That's true in Washington. You still have to fill out the forms and pass the NICS test, but by the time you're buying a gun, the state has already done a far greater background check on you than you'd ever face in a gun store.

SFC Michael D. I live in Texas too and I have a CHL also I don't know about where you buy your guns but the ones I go to they are very anal about the transfer paperwork if you don't fill it out 100% correctly you have to do it again which is completely understandable

For those of us with weapons carry licenses in GA, it is a little easier, but you do have to havea drivers license with a proper address.

In Florida, even with a CCW, a person STILL has to pass the normal background-check for EVERY gun purchase. We get to bypass the waiting-period, but that is the extent of our "privilege".

There is a LOT of misinformation and downright BS in the media these days about how "easy" it is to buy a gun. An ex-president told a crowd in another country that a person can buy a "machine-gun" online without any background-check. He was, and is FOS!!!
The mismatched-addresses problem is easy to get around if a person has official state documents verifying both addresses. I forgot to use my drivers-license address when I bought my M&P Shield a few months ago and used my "living-address", but my vehicle registration has my "living-address" on it, so that took care of that problem. My drivers-license address is my property in another county, but I live in a travel trailer, so my "living-address" may change on a moment's notice.
