Marking the 80th anniversary of the German invasion of Poland (Sept. 1, 1939) and the beginning of World War II, the German Bishops Conference held a Mass this month at the site of the Auschwitz concentration camp honoring the legacy of St. Maximilian Kolbe.
Archbishop Ludwig Schick of Bamberg, Bavaria, celebrated the Aug. 14 Mass in a former concentration camp barracks in honor of St. Maximilian Kolbe, a Franciscan priest killed there in 1941 by lethal injection after volunteering to undergo execution in another inmate's place.

Another place and history that must be remembered. When I read or hear Holocaust deniers I get very angry.

What about the people "serving" in Congress now who deny the Holocaust ever happened? It makes my blood pressure rise, I can't talk about it too much for fear of a heart attack!

Every time I think of those camps, my heart aches. We went through Dachau while visiting Munich. I can't begin to describe the feelings I had while there.
We also went to the Olympic Stadium where the Israeli athletes were murdered. Stood outside of the Dorms where they stayed. Very emotional time.
We must never forget!!
