Unfortunately, I think their roots are more than superficial and it would take a massive movement from the right and middle to accomplish that feat.

In Sunni Islam, the only innocent people are those who are within Sunni Islam. All others are fair game in murder, rape, taking slaves and making war with those who do not submit to the one true god of the Kaaba.
