Vietnamese seem to have a lock on the manicure business in Southern California and when I first began using them, the younger ones would always ask, "Did you leave any children in Vietnam?" They're looking for fathers. I didn't. I am certain I didn't because I didn't have sex while I was there, protected or unprotected. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Why? That's complex. And it's unimportant. I simply didn't. Thus, I didn't leave any children behind, but I was always moved by the question. It was always full of longing. And I wonder with those children, does daddy ever think of them?

I was going to a hotel in Manila, Philippines and noticed like 12 year old girls at every floor near the elevators wearing nice white dresses. These were child prostitutes and I had an ill feeling.

Depending on when you were there, they might not be girls.
