Awareness of your surroundings goes a long way to be prepared. Introducing yourself and shaking his hand disarms 85% of the population as they are right handed. Being left handed is my advantage. Learning to use your weak hand in shooting is a plus. If he is coming at you with a knife in his hand a swift kick to the gonads or the knee will throw him off balance. If he has a gun and demands your wallet take it out and throw it to either side and when he takes his eyes off of you strike. Learn self defense moves and practice them.
