Social media bots are damaging our democracy

A valid discussion these days, but overwrought on all sides. "News" has always been reported imperfectly since long before the rise of social media. In my time, Walter Cronkite delivered the worst stroke of misinformation that greatly affected American support for the war effort in Vietnam. Conspiracy theories have muddied the waters in all times. For example, the stories of FDR deliberately enticing Japan to attack Pearl Harbor persist to this day. And let's not forget JFK's assassination. Many still insist that the fatal shot came from "The Grassy Knoll". Still, somehow we survive and people still labor under the mis-impression that we are a "democracy"

I think most Social Media sites have a disclaimer where you must check the box.
It's called the 'OZ CLAUSE' where you testify that you have a brain.

I always wait to make sure the facts have been sorted.
