Meh, slavery was and is a world problem. Thanks to technology, we've replaced people with machines. So I wouldn't argue that we're anywhere different than what we used to be.
Ask yourself, if machines where to stop working tomorrow, pick your reason why (zombies, aliens, officers, etc), would slavery reemerge. Why or why not.
