The trio of congresswomen serving among the House managers during the Senate impeachment trial said Thursday that Americans will view it as "rigged" if President Trump is acquitted without witnesses or new evidence being presented.
"It seems to me, if there's not a full, fair trial with witnesses, he may get an acquittal, but he's not going to get an exoneration," Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) told NBC News. "It's going to be seen for what it is, just a rubber stamp to get him off the hook."

They have that right. The whole impeachment process in the House was so amateurishly rigged that a child could see through it, and they produced a Bill of Impeachment that fails to mention even one actionable high crime or misdemeanor. And now they want the Senate to do their job for them? Seems to me that the House is determined to finish out four years of doing nothing but reversing a lawful election of a President. Fools...

Capt Gregory Prickett - You are going to be so disappointed again when this latest attempt to remove Trump fails. I've noticed you have not been as present on the threads celebrating this fiasco. I think even you know this has no legs and is purely partisan and being driven by pollical dislike and not actual high crimes and misdemeanors.
This will fail because it is a sham. The House investigation was partisan and the democrats overplayed their hand. They were blatantly unfair in the house and now demand fairness in the Senate. The Senate makes the rules in the Senate. There will not be 67 Senators that vote for conviction and removal.
Nancy is wrong too. She likes to say that Trumps impeachment is "forever". Impeachment is simply a fancy term for charged. The house charged, the Senate will not convict hence the charge no longer stands.

I like how they are only halfway through presenting their case and already are spinning reasons why they lost and it was unfair. Maybe if they would have done a better job in the House, this wouldn't be a thing. Then again, maybe they didn't get the memo that the whole thing was doomed to failure in the first place and that the real goal was to score political points.

Capt Gregory Prickett - My assertion was regarding whether they had the guts to go through with it or not. It looked like they were waffling on it. Frankly, it looked like they were waffling on it when Pelosi held the AoI for a month, too.
But it turns out that the pressure from the rabid masses back home was too much and they went through with it. They pussed out on going for the bribery and obstruction of justice charges they kept floating though. I don't think that was an accident to choose "charges" that they felt they could actually make a case for, as those other two actually have elements in federal law that they'd be hard pressed to prove.
This dog ain't gonna hunt in the Senate, though.
