Bernie wasn't a threat when he was a cute old guy with a following they needed. Now he might win the nomination outright, and panic sets in that his policies aren't what the Dems want to be.

The next time the Democrats are in the WH there will be a lot of people they no longer care about. I never heard nearly as much about immigration when President Obama and the Dems had both houses of Congress in 2010 as I do now but I am sure that is because immigrant votes could not get them into offices they already held. It is a different thing in 2020 and if they win in NOV, not long after in JAN they will discovered to meet campaign promises they will tax themselves out of office.
