Good Tuesday morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs We in the military have lived this. Every time we PCS to a new unit we try to make things better (or at least I did) No matter how well we do on an inspection, or in accomplishing our mission, there is always room for improvement. That's the point of the "hot wash" to look back and review and see where things could have been better. I try to do that with every workshop I do for the Red Cross; I do my own private "hot wash" to see where I could have done better.

"Improvement Day" today begins with the city engineer to advise me on my water barrier berm. The stay-at-home order had certainly opened time for me to make improvements around home. Life gets in the way and we don't make time to take care of home. So it seems an entity out of human control did so. Have a great "Improvement Day" COL Mikel J. Burroughs.

My contribution (at present, anyway) for Improvement Day is this- at present I am 90 minutes in on CSpan2's Book TV presentation of an in-depth interview with author Shelby Foote, which can be found on You Tube. I am enjoying it immensely and have 30 minutes to go. Turns out he was a fellow fan of Proust and Chekhov. I shall strive to make the remainder of the day equally edifying. After all, the skeet ranges are closed.
