Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs We can see what happens when people regard something as a challenge versus when they regard it as a problem. One encourages action and the other does not. Right now our scientists, laboratories and businesses are looking at finding a solution to the virus as a challenge; we are looking for cures, workarounds, vaccines, etc. This is what we must do if we are to be successful in keeping our country. Some see it all as a problem to run away from and that will solve nothing in the long run.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Great quotes and input today for challenges. I know you've faced so many like we've all faced in our lives Charlie. May you know that your journey through everyday life and the future will have its challenges and may you overcome them each, continue to be positive and resilient during these uncertain times, and may you and your family stay safe and healthy!

I expect that you are weathering the current COVID-19 challenges with a mixture of grace, compassion & mirth and periods of thoughtful reflection. No doubt that you have already weathered many challenges to life, limb and property which has built up your faith in God to carry you through Charlie.
I pray that you and I seek the LORD’s guidance daily and that HE blesses each one of us with endurance to persevere with grace as we lead our loved ones [human and pets] through this current coronavirus infection risk season, my brother-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift those service members and interagency operatives on the front lines of the global war on terrorism and those individuals on the front lines to interdict and rescue those who have been kidnapped or deceitfully lured into the sex trafficking and slave trade to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one with a large dose of endurance, quick reflexes, spiritual alertness, and an ability to persevere in doing good. I pray that YOU enable each one of these people to sleep well, safely and securely when they have breaks in duty.
I pray that challenges of non-violent protestors will be listened to and quickly responded to favorably by the governors of Michigan, New York, California, Texas, Washington state, Virginia, Florida, and other states and nations including India, Australia, Philippines and Europe, Africa, South America, Canada and Mexico.
I pray that respectful dialogue will be increasing, and partisan rancor will be diminishing from local to national levels.
I pray that national leaders and legislatures are taking up the challenge to work towards solving serious issues including developing a solid consensus on steps required to open up economies from local levels on up to national levels.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Thursday night.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

A blessed day to you Colonel and all my friends and my family here on Rally Point. Greetings from beautiful Yuma, Arizona where the high today will be 106.
We are all challenged at one time or another and we need those challenges in our lives to bring out the best in us. After meeting the challenge we can sit back and appreciate what we have accomplished and know that we rose to the occasion. We did so in the military and we can continue to do so as civilians.
May peace reign in you today and God's blessings to each and everyone of you, my family.

1. Throughout my over 63 years I have been faced with many challenges and I survived them all -- although not unscathed.

2. We are each faced with unique challenges and yet what unites us is so much greater that what separates us. I hope and pray that one who reads this discussion will be blessed with peace and joy and will overcome each challenge that appears on the horizon.

3. The most profound and important challenges in life are relational from family, local community, through leader and led, to the state and national levels.

4. There is a grain of truth in the saying what does not kill you makes you stronger.
a. I have external scars and internal body scars from some of the violent challenges I was faced with in my youth. I learned much in that season and became streetwise.
b. Other scars from challenges are on the mind and soul and not visible to the naked eye.

5. I met the challenge to enlist as a soldier in November 1974 as the Vietnam War was winding down in the midst of the Cold War. I met the challenges of BCT and 12B AIT at Fort Leonard Wood head on. I did not realize how much I changed until my family did not recognize me as I landed at Philadelphia International Airport for Christmas break. Pullups, pushups and sit-ups rearranged my 140 pounds going into 160 pounds 6 weeks later.

6. I met the challenges of USMAPS and received an appointment to USMA, West Point and met the challenges there including earning the dubious honor of completing over 100 punishment tours as a cadet. I met the challenges of jump school, Infantry Mortar Platoon Officers Course, Infantry Officers' Basic Course, infantry battalion assignments, Infantry Officer Advanced Course, Company Command., Combined Arms Services and Staff School, and follow-on assignments and military schooling through Command and General Staff College.

7. The challenges of being a husband and father to four sons have been myriad and yet they have helped improve me as each of my four sons has transitioned into adulthood.

Good Thursday, May 7, 2020 morning my challenging friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs

I can understand what you are saying Stephen. I went to BCT at Ft. Jackson in 1969 and then to 91B AIT. Then to Vietnam. That was a life changing challenge for me and has left physical and mental scars within and without. My parents picked me up at Charleston AFB after my convalescence leave and my Dad, a career Air Force man, said I had matured and changed so very much. I was a totally different person and way to serious. So those challenges caused big changes in me.
