Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs We madeP it to the weekend. I am having trouble telling the difference these days, LOL.
Independent thinking is a great topic especially as we see more and more people who don't seem to know how to do this. They follow in lockstep with others not even looking up once to see what is happening around them. Part of the problem is both too much information and a lack of it...we are overwhelmed with "news" "reports" "information" but when you look closely at it, much of it is either repetitive or deceptive. Take the time to sort through it and think for yourself.

I expect that your skepticism has benefitted you many times over as you were confronted with perspectives and opinions which did not make sense. Your search for truth benefitted from being a skeptic as the Holy Spirit lead you towards HIM. In God’s perfect timing HE regenerated your heart/soul and your soul was reborn, your eyes and ears were opened to the truth of God’s Word Alan.
I pray that you and I are wise enough to recognize the truth of God’s Word to the extent that we can easily spot attempts to twist scripture by televangelists, teachers in pulpits and others who misuse the Word of God - especially those who teach we can create by our words, my brother-in-Christ Alan K..
I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are parents encourage their children to ask reasonable questions as they learn. I pray that parents and teachers understand that logic is a foundation to learning which is crucial to learn without being duped. Empower parents and teachers to understand logic well enough to teach and demonstrate inductive and deductive reasoning in daily situations. Empower us to live by the standards we set for ourselves and our family members.
I lift the police force members, sheriff department members and federal and state agents focused on controlling and interdicting criminal activity. I pray that YOU bless them with wisdom and the capability to think rationally and logically. Give each of them courage of conviction to ask pertinent questions to witnesses, suspects and their supervisors. Motivate them to be respectful to each person they interact with - especially each witness.
I pray that YOU bless the military service members and agency personnel focused on counter-terror operations with wisdom, critical thinking skills, discernment and great targeting and engagement skills as they destroy the terrorists and their networks.
I lift the Federal and state elected leaders, legislators, and judges who are YOUR adopted sons and daughters to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU give each one wisdom, critical thinking skills, sound judgement. and good health.
I lift each elected leader, legislator, and judge in the relatively free world including Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America. I pray that YOU give each one sound judgement, an understanding of logic and motivate them to use it daily, and wisdom to work towards solutions to the problems facing them in their responsibilities.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.' b. 'If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him' [James 1:5 ESV ]
c. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it. [Proverbs 9:10-12 ESV]
