From the article "Actually shutting down the CHOP may be difficult to accomplish after the city banned police officers from possessing crowd-control weapons." Anyone else think that the mayor is in WAY over her head? They are brandishing firearms at city workers, will not let police or first responders in, have chased out a representative from the mayor's office and the Fire Chief. Do they think normal crowd control devices (pepper balls, Riot gear, tear gas) are going to cut it? It may very well take a swat team to go building by building to clear the area. Hell, it may take the military to safely do it. I say safely because at least for now, the protesters appear less likely to fire on our military than on the police. One hell of a mess they have there.
