"Too heavy" and "Back and Hip problems". I glazed over the rest of the article. Snowflake for sure. I'll continue to carry one of my 1911s. Like this 10+1 double stack Para Warthog compact.

One main reason you buy a certain firearm to use as an EDC is it has to be concealable on "your" body. If you have a larger frame like myself a full size 1911 is not hard to conceal. Now if you're a 5'3' 100 lb women or man a full size 1911 is not going to be a wise EDC. As for the other stuff - same could be said why you don't see Buick Impalas in Formula 1.

I carried one in Vietnam in a tanker's shoulder holster. I think it had been captured by the VC and thrown back as unfit for use. You could hear the barrel roll around in the slide if you shook it. I had the good fortune of finding a box of .45 tracer ammo and used it like a laser pointer. That's about all it was good for...
