I get mine every year at the end of August, early September. While there are some who think that is too early, I work in health care and want to make sure I am ready for the start of the season. There is a danger of the effectiveness of the shot to begin to wane in 4 to 6 months. It takes 2 weeks for the antibodies to develop as a result of your flu shot. The CDC recommends getting a flu shot no later than the end of October.
