I agree with Crenshaw. I have had a science fiction novel on the backburner for several years and in it imagined a battle in space as being like a battle between two submarines. (Just as a side note, it seems to me that during such a battle both combatants would remove all air from their ships' cabins to prevent the spread of fire)
