I don't post articles very often, but this one is too good to pass up. The author, Massad Ayoob, is one of the foremost authorities on firearms and self-defense in the US. He has been training both civilians and police since 1974, and this article is still as pertinent as when it was first published in 2016. The #1 takeaway is "Never leave home without it, because it is better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."

Kudos to Police Sergeant Rusty Jacks for killing the mass-murderer David Hernandez Arroyo, Sr. in Tyler, Texas on February 24, 2005, who shot his ex-wife and son outside the courthouse in Tyler, Texas, then engaged police and court officers in a shootout. He opened fire in front of the courthouse with a semi-automatic AK-47 rifle, killing his ex-wife, and wounding his son. A downtown resident, Mark Alan Wilson, attempted to intervene but was shot dead.'
Kudos to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department policemen who responded to the murderers of police officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo and a good Samaritan. The woman shot the man and then killed herself before they could be captured.
