I am not A Marine and I don't like this. I can only guess that the Hollywood Marines and the Real Ones think it's a terrible idea. What came to my mind was how similar it is to the Closing of Ft. Ord. Ord was not about expedience, it was about how valuable that ocean front property was in the civilian market. I think someone should be looking for a money trail through realtors to some members of the House of Representatives.

April 2024. A recent report re: Ft Ord is that the two, PGA class golf courses are being overbuilt with houses! “Non-profits” have long utilized remaining buildings as soon as they could work a rental deal at small costs to themselves!

I don't know why they can't utilize the space they have now. Plenty of room on both installations.
