As long as you didn't have to land. They used to take C-Rat cans and place grenades in them with the pins pulled. They would then place the cans in elevated points around a potential landing zone with wire connecting the grenades. When the helicopter came in to land it would hit the wires and pull the grenades out of the cans. Even eagle-eyed aviators couldn't see the wires when you were involved in an approach.
Another trick was taking unexploded bombs, put them in the zone with a detonator, and string det cord out of the zone where a person would be prepared to set the bomb off when a helicopter entered the zone. I actually landed on top of one of these, but I guess the guy who was supposed to set it off had gone to make a head call or something, it was the only time I knew I was going to die over there and I couldn't do a thing about it.

Fascinating video. Hell the Vietnamese had a lot of practice due to its many wars.
