Turkey's Erdogan urges French goods boycott amid Islam row

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Turks to boycott French goods amid a row over France's tougher stance on radical Islam.
In a televised speech, he urged world leaders to protect Muslims "if there is oppression against Muslims in France".
Mr Erdogan has angrily criticised French President Emmanuel Macron for pledging to defend secularism against radical Islam.
It comes after a teacher was killed for showing Prophet Muhammad cartoons.
Samuel Paty was beheaded on 16 October by 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov outside Paris, after presenting the images to his pupils during a class about freedom of speech.
Mr Macron has paid tribute to Mr Paty, and said France "will not give up our cartoons".

Time to boycott Turkish products and travel to Turkey - for any crazy enough to vacation there or their northern neighbors at Nagorno-Karabakh my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel.
I expect Erdogan recognizes that the moves by Sunni Arab majority nations to establish formal relationships with Israel is dashing his changes to bring Turkey to the Sunni's.
Now that Sudan has formally established relationship with Israel [after Bahrain, U.A.E.], and Saudi Arabia is pondering doing likewise, I expect Egypt and Jordan will follow soon thanks to the diplomatic efforts of the Trump administration.
Even Armenia and Azerbaijan came together in Washington recently and cease fire was brokered for Nagorno-Karabakh.

I was stationed there in 86-88 and the relationship was good then but now I have no desire to return. This behavior by the Turkish government is totally out of line.

Won’t work; too many Turks have an “addiction” to French consumer goods, as does the rest of the world!
