SSG Robert Mark Odom - Hardly just one man's opinion. I think you'll find that many share it, and if you actually saw the curriculum with an open mind, you'd agree. It's based on a false narrative of history designed to inculcate guilt. True diversity training would celebrate the value of the differences among people. Anyone who has served has seen this value first hand. Every team, platoon, crew, et al is composed of individuals bringing different abilities and capabilities as well as differences in gender, race, et al, and the team is stronger for those differences. If I were teaching diversity, I'd make this the number one lesson: When two people are the same, agree on everything, one of them isn't necessary. But then, I value the differences between us and celebrate them. I'm not in the business of using guilt to divide us by our differences...
