That’s the answer, SGT (Join to see)? Demand has simply outstripped supply? Purchasers are simply emptying the shelves? If that’s really the answer, then okay, but I really have difficulty accepting that as the real answer.

I think if someone has a Barrel of ammo in their garage they need to back off and let some other people get in line.

BTW, SGT (Join to see), as I looked at my response, it seems like I’m taking a shot at you. Not at all. I simply think that there might be other reasons, and I’m not altogether certain that the author totally explored the possibilities.

LTC Stephen C. - I saw nothing negative in your initial response, I picked up the inference in "real answer".

Well just the yearly hunting license number in almost any one State would over shadow most militaries on the planet so that's a start as to where it goes

SrA William Cassy, I’ve always heard (and liked) the joke that if all the hunters in Wisconsin (or Michigan or Texas or...) were to take the oath of enlistment, they would have the fourth largest standing army in the world! :)

LTC Stephen C. - That is the basis of the "Behind every Blade of Grass" quote, and why CONUS has not been invaded.

Absolutely correct, SGT (Join to see)! “You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass." Frequently and routinely misattributed to Japanese Admiral Yamamoto.
I don’t care who said it. The sentiment is correct and one of the principal reasons that the second amendment must remain intact.
