It's a good point. Has any leadership said what they'll do to change things? Or is everyone just saying "read the report?"

SHARP is a joke. I have seen miniscule improvement in the program since it started. It was always reactive. Never proactive. Even when I was a SARC I saw the issues. I tried to do what I could to make change but when your leadership is all lip service...hard to do.

Two things that have set us up for failure is how simple the definition of harassment has become and then people see nothing happen. If I ask you out on a date multiple times and you find me disgusting, that is probably harassment in your eyes but the judicial system will not prosecute it and you may not see any change. That will be taken as a failure of the system by the victim.

The other problem is if a male is mistreating a female soldier, most of us male leaders would be happy to take them out back and complete some wall to wall counseling. I would be happy to bring some females to the party that have been offended and the shit would not happen again but in 2020 I cannot do this. We cannot do this and have to hope the judicial system sees it as a case worth taking and lawyers are like surgeons, they do not like to take cases into the courtroom that have a chance of dying on the table.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Obviously "wall to wall counseling" hasn't done a damn thing because it was allowed for years and look - we still have sexual predators.

Sexual predators - whether male OR female - don't care about anything but stalking their prey. That's it. They want power and control - and they find someone they perceive as weak to do it to. Or someone who offended their ego. That's ultimately the type of people who sexually harass or sexually assault - again whether male OR female as these are not gender specific crimes. We don't even truly know the scope of how many male victims there are as they are less likely to report. Let's not forget SGT Elder-Fernandes at Hood who went out and hanged himself because his leaders failed him after he reported sexual harassment. We have bright, motivated young soldiers being destroyed because our system fails them. Or THEY get punished and kicked out and their perps walk free.

I don't know how we fix it after hundreds of years of this shit. Let's be real - sexual assault happened before females were integrated in. It's just toxic and it's hard to screen people when they have never before been caught doing it. We can't screen thoughts. So predators get in and they find more prey and the cycle continues.
