There are some really disturbing stories about remote learning and the kids are suffering from it.

Our two youngest children are utilizing the home online method of learning. I had a very “matter of fact” conversation with one of their teachers, explaining the difficulties. Children learning at home are often distracted quite easily, especially if a sibling is present, and they are close. They are more concerned with what the other is doing Vice what they are supposed to be doing. You then have the lack of attention span, which movement can normally takeover for monotone instruction. Children with a shortened attention span will be good for about 20 minutes, then you lose them online for that subject! Having watched my own children’s behaviors and as a professional Instructional Designer, online instruction via teacher isn’t the way to go for younger children. They need more interaction, so, a more directed approach thru online training via CBT would best suite them, with a teacher observing for questions and answers. Goes to the adage of some can do, some can teach, few can do both, and effectively!
