For those who say it can't be done, you're in for a rude awakening. A bill has to be presented to the House, the House can then suspend the rules, pass the bill, and send the impeachment to the Senate. One, maybe two days. The Senate can then try Trump in one, maybe two days, without stalling, because Moscow Mitch won't be in charge as soon as the two new Georgia Senators are seated. Then the Chief Justice will chair the trial, and all you'll need are 17 GOP senators. Trump would likely be convicted, removed from office, and barred from ever again holding a federal office. It could be done fast enough that Pence would be president for a little over a week.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Well. I got nothing for that, other than why bother? But I'm fairly certain the moderate portion of yourself agrees with my 'more sane' position.

For my own edification, you're saying Obama could still be impeached?

SN Greg Wright - Trump can be impeached and removed until noon on the 20th. Obama is not in office.

You indict, try, and convict Trump because he repeated broke the law.

LTC (Join to see) - that's a distraction technique. Let's stay focused on the actual issues here.

Congress is not in session.
That is pretty much the end of that.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I don't think she wants to have this distraction heading into the legislative session. There is a big agenda they want to do, and this would derail all of that for quite a while, and burn up any goodwill that might exist.

I think she chickens out.

25th Amendment more likely than impeachment. Congress adjourned after verifying the vote.

Congress can reconvene at any time, if necessary. The Senate is meeting tomorrow, for example.
