New owners, new hunters. I'm a big fan of Savage Arms. This is available in several common hunting calibers. These were introduced at the SHOT show. I know Savage to be reliable and They have good customer service. I own several. If You're in the market, it won't hurt to take a look.

I own a Savage .243 and it is one of my most accurate and deadly guns in my collection. I use it mainly for varmint control, specifically ground hogs!

Bob Betcher Sr. in Peshtigo Wisconsin, God Rest His Soul, was my go-to-guy in my youth for swapping shots at the range out by the harbor. He used to bring something new to the range every week and I loved it. He taught me sniper skills when I was 12 years old. Beat the County Champ that year! He Was Pissed! Some Kid outshooting him.. I loved it. Oh,BTW it was also a TURKEY SHOOT. Remember THOSE?? I Took Home the Turkey!
