I believe it was the case handlers job to establish the facts of the case not the defense. The Democrats in the House rushed the case forward with out establishing some primary facts of the case. Well if you don’t do your job I guess your fall back is to ask the opposition to do your job!

Capt Gregory Prickett - thank you for the compliment Capt Prickett. Do you understand you should prepare to present your case? Can a lawyer present hearsay evidence that isn’t true in ANY legal preceding? Clearly the Democrats presented erroneous information and should have checked but we will depend on the legal giants among us to keep us on the straight and narrow, thank you for the help.

LTC David Brown - Absolutely. Hearsay evidence is admitted in litigation all the time. Did you not know that there were dozens of exceptions to the hearsay rule? Second, the impeachment rules don't prohibit the introduction of hearsay. Third, this isn't a litigation type trial, see Nixon v. United States, 506 U.S. 224 (1993), and the Senate doesn't have to follow courtroom rules.

As for the video clips, let me make sure that I understand you. It's OK for Trump to cut and splice, but not for the prosecution? That's BS.

Finally, there's a reason that I have yet to lose a case to a pro se opponent.

Capt Gregory Prickett - The prosecution presented the BS cut and paste first, the defense responded in kind. When is lying in any court, trial etc. OK? Mike Lee sad he never said what the House managers said he said. Of course this really isn’t a trial, it is political theater and the outcome is exactly what one would expect, Trump was acquitted.

LTC David Brown - OK, let me go thru this, again, point by point.

1. The reason the prosecution could do it was that it didn't violate any rules. That means the defense would be violating the rules either, not that they could do it because the other side did it first. If it's wrong, neither side gets to do it, because it's against a rule.

2. You do understand the difference between a mistake and perjury, don't you? The hearsay statement allegedly made by Sen. Lee was withdrawn when he objected. That's different from a lie.

3. When you have GOP Senators who don't care about the police officers who were assaulted, and care more for political power, that's what happens. At least 7 GOP Senators had moral courage.
