First images from Perseverance’s Mastcam-Z

Late yesterday and today, Mission Control tested the Mascam-Z cameras on board Perseverance... The images taken are extraordinary in the level of detail that have been sent back thus far from Perseverance...

MASTCAM-Z
Mastcam-Z is one of the scientific instruments onboard NASA’s Perseverance rover. The two cameras create a multispectral, stereoscopic imaging instrument that can zoom in, focus, and take 3D pictures and video at high speed to allow detailed examination of distant objects.

I highly recommend that this short 2:21 minute video be watched FULL SCREEN on the largest screen you have available so that you may see the level of detail exhibited in its test results...

I am sure that when it is turned on to monitor Mars surface features and, when ready, the test Helicopter will be tracked by one or more cameras on Perseverance and most probably this MASTCAM-Z as well...

I am sure there will be more exciting images to follow...
