For the last decade, I flew to El Salvador almost every year (prior to the Pandemic) to visit my Mother in Honduras.
The President of El Salvador gives Fox News' Tucker Carlson a frank analysis of the pros and cons of people from his country leaving for the United States. He admits his country had a lack of opportunity and a lack of security but he's changed that and he claims that immigration to the USA is down 75% due to the improvements he has made.
The President of El Salvador has been in office for a little over a year and speaks excellent English.

Hes absolutely right, no one wants to leave their country to go somewhere where they arent welcome with open arms. People come here out of desperation, when there are beggers in the streets making better wages than those who work for a living you have a problem. When the common working man has to worry about gangs extorting over half of their income just for living in the wrong neighborhood you have a real problem. The war aside, the country has been ravaged by gangs, corrupt police, and politicians. Its refreshing to see a leader who puts their country before party or self interest.
